The Santa Clara County FireSafe Council is establishing a Prescribed Burn Association (PBA) in Santa Clara County called South Bay PBA to enhance the ability of both private and public landowners to safely use prescribed burns, with the goal of reducing wildfire severity and improving landscape health.
The South Bay PBA (SBPBA) will organize training programs to provide educational opportunities for non-fire service affiliated individuals. The SBPBA will also conduct workshops and community outreach. Through the SCCFSC, the SBPBA will contract certified experts to conduct training sessions for members to receive qualifications that may be required for certain burns.and fuel moistures start to rise.
