Making Your Home Fire Safe

California Fire-Threat Map

Map of California showing high fire threat areas in purple

Approved in January 2018, this map delineates areas in the state where there is high risk from utility associated wildfires. It shows whether your property has fallen into this new high fire zone, according to new fire-safety regulations adopted by the CPUC in December 2017. This modification could have impacts on your insurance costs, ability to sell your house and of course on how PG&E maintains the trees around power lines.

Here's the map: cpuc_firemap2.sig-gis.com

You can click within the legend to the left of the map, to color the various CPUC Tiers within the map.
