The Santa Clara County FireSafe Council continues to make great progress!  We've finished our 2008 federal grants for our Defensible Space Chipping Programs and we now have five 2009-2010 grants to continue these programs.  In 2008, our Chipping Program accomplishments include protecting over 2,100 homes, 6,300 people, and $2.1 Billion in property values. We expect to significantly increase these values in 2009.

Pacific Gas and Electric Company, San Jose Water Company, Santa Clara County Fire Department, Aldercroft Heights County Water District, Santa Clara Valley Water District, State Farm Insurance, San Jose Fire Fighters Local 230, FM Global Insurance, Loma Prieta Resource Conservation District, Morgan Hill Community Foundation, Firefighters Charitable Foundation, Lake Canyon Mutual Water Company, Loma Prieta Community Foundation, Murphy Law Firm, Union Pacific Railroad, Bear Creek Stables, Allstate Foundation, Willow Street Wood Fired Pizza, Westinghouse Electric Company, Holiday Lake Estates, Redwood Estates Services Association and individual homeowners have made matching contributions for our Chipping Programs.

So, with all of this growth and great news, what do we need now?  More Matching Funding for our new Federal Grants and General Donations!  Please help us raise the local funding we need to grow our programs and help us prevent wildfires in Santa Clara County by making a tax-deductible donation to the Santa Clara County FireSafe Council.

If you would like to help make Santa Clara County Fire Safe, you may make a secure online donation or simply mail your tax deductible gift to the Santa Clara County FireSafe Council, 16174 Highland Drive, San Jose, CA 95127. Please call Jenn Viane Riese, Executive Coordinator, at 408-975-9591 to learn about making a donation.
