“My first assignment as a volunteer was to learn about the Firewise USA recognition process, and to guide my own community through that process. The experience not only provided valuable education to our neighborhood, but it increased community camaraderie and pride when we received recognition from Firewise USA. Volunteering here is rewarding and provides a nice sense of purpose.”

Through my work here I’ve learned a lot about forestry and forestry management, and I’ve been able to continue being involved with community fire prevention even though I’ve retired from firefighting.”
